The Director of the Silence Memorial will give an entertaining presentation of the history, traditions and customs associated with the celebration of Hanukkah, and will also introduce the new book Talmud in your pocket. In it, Pavlína Šulcová and Kakalík retell twenty rabbinic stories from the Talmud – a book that was written in the first centuries of our era to record the intellectual, legal and ethical tradition of the Jewish people – in an entertaining way. Renowned mystics, wise and occasionally a bit wacky rabbis and their disciples debut here to explain how things really are in our world. Or not...? We'll listen and maybe even learn a few Hanukkah songs.
