The opening will feature the Makabara Trio and Dominika Weiss Hošková, cello.
This year commemorates the eighty-second anniversary of the commencement of the deportations of Jewish residents from Brno and the neighboring villages to concentration and extermination camps. The memorial, situated on Platform 5 Brno Main Train Station, from which Transport F departed on 16 November 1941, destined for the Minsk ghetto, serves as a reminder of the tragic fate endured by more than 10,000 lives. These individuals, unjustly branded as “others”, “second-class” citizens, were stripped of their rights and human dignity and subjected to imprisonment and systematic annihilation.
