Religionist, Hebraist and publicist Jan Fingerland conceives of the Bible as a literary work and a cultural and historical document. His new book Hebrew Women. In this book, he explores how the stories of the Bible's heroines have been understood over the centuries by rabbis, Christian theologians, artists, linguists and psychoanalysts.
