discussion with Jindřich Štreit, Jindřich Buxbaum, and Hana Němečková

Jindřich Štreit has devoted practically his entire photographic life to communities, with human relationships as his main topic. He notices how people treat each other and what they feel. The work of his student Hana Němečková takes a personal turn. In her photographs, we observe the eternal struggle between good and evil, childhood memories, children, people, and occasionally the oppressive world of nightmares. Authentic shots by Jindřich Buxbaum capture emotional moments from the life of the ultra-Orthodox community. Is Jewish identity the unifying element of their work?
